Sh2-308 is an emission nebula and HII region located near the center of the Canis Major. The nebula is bubble-like, surrounding a Wolf–Rayet star EZ Canis Majoris. This star is in the brief, pre-supernova phase. Sh2-308 sometimes goes by the name Gourd Nebula and sometimes by the Dolphin nebula. Sh2-303 and Sh2-310 also in the field. . . |
